Cheesy Broccoli Oat Fritters with Siracha Barbecue Ketchup

Loaded with broccoli, oats and cheese, these fritters come together quick and then served with siracha barbecue ketchup.




Crispy and cheesy with the goodness of broccoli and oats, these fritters are great served hot with siracha barbecue ketchup , aka…awesome sauce. This sauce is SO Gooood and is great with chicken nuggets too.


These fritters could not be any simpler. Mix all ingredients together, shape and fry. Done…done. Please make sure that you mix with your hands, this helps in binding everything together well. And for the sauce, stir everything together until smooth.

Sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator but, the fritters are best when served hot!

Cheesy broccoli oat fritters

2 cups coarsely grated broccoli

1 cup old fashioned oats

1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup finely chopped onion

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 large eggs

1/4 cup olive or vegetable oil, for cooking

Siracha barbecue ketchup

1/4 cup barbecue sauce

1/4 cup ketchup

1/4 cup plain yogurt

2 tablespoons siracha sauce

2 tablespoons water


To make cheesy broccoli oat fritters,

Mix all ingredients (except oil) with hands , until throughly combined. Shape into 10 even sized balls.

Heat oil in a 9-inch cast iron skillet, until moderately hot. Pat each ball into a 2 1/2 inch patty, on the palm of your hands and gently place in the hot skillet (5 patties can be cooked in a batch). Cook on medium heat, until golden brown on both sides (4- 5 minutes total ). Transfer onto a plate lined with paper towel. Repeat with remaining patties. Serve hot.

To make Siracha barbecue ketchup,

Stir all ingredients together in a bowl.

Serve patties hot from the skillet with the ketchup.

Makes 10 patties
