Energy Bites

Oats, almond butter, cranberries, dates, sesame and honey come together to form a portable energy bite.Oh yes, chocolate chips are added for a touch of indulgence!


Now that all sports fall sessions have started in full swing along with school, homework and tests, days have started becoming so much shorter. Can somebody add an additional couple of hours to my day???

Sophia needs that extra protein and nutrition for all the intense basket ball. This recipe is perfect for her and for the whole family. Loaded with oats, almond butter, sesame seeds,cranberries, dates and semi sweet chocolate (got to have some chocolate in life……), these balls are a healthy snack for young and old. Sweet, chewy, chocolatey….might be hard to believe that they are actually good for you!

Of course, unwrapping a store bought health bar is so much easier. But, this recipe might be just one additional step. The process is so much simple and cost effective. Some of those health bars cost a whopping $2- $3 for one:( And the best of all, you know what exactly these are are made off!


Probably the most shortest process of all… Mix all ingredients and shape into balls.

Energy Bites


1 cup old fashioned oats

1/2 cup almond butter

1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips, chopped coarsely

1/2 cup cranberries, chopped coarsely

6 medjool dates, pit removed and chopped coarsely

2 tablespoons white sesame seeds

1-2 tablespoons honey


Combine all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Mix well with hands, until thoroughly combined.

Shape into balls and serve.

Makes about 20 balls
