A cool, refreshing breakfast on a hot day. Everyone’s favorite classic Black forest cake, but, healthier…much healthier in the form of over night oats.
Cake for breakfast???
Bonus points if it is no-cook and cold.

This taste just as a slice of black forest cake. Sweet!
Skill level – Easy
Black Forest Cake Overnight Oats
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Old fashioned oats
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
1 teaspoon chia seeds
1/2 cup milk (low fat or whole milk)
2 tablespoons maple syrup
Topping
2 tablespoons greek yogurt
1/2 tablespoon maple syrup
2-3 cherries, chopped
Preparation:
1. The previous night, stir together oats, cocoa powder and chia seeds in a mason jar or bowl. Stir in milk and 2 tablespoons maple syrup. Cover and refrigerate overnight (at least 6 hours or up to 2 days).
2. Just before serving, stir together greek yogurt and remaining 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup in a small bowl, until smooth.
3. Remove oats from refrigerator, stir in chopped cherries and top with yogurt. Serve immediately.
Makes 1 serving

i overdid it on the overnight oats a while back and got bored with my cinnamon raisin combo. but THIS. sounds delicious. it’s almost like eating cherry garcia ice cream for breakfast, but a little healthier, so i can work with that compromise (:
