Cranberry Ginger Soda

A light and refreshing holiday drink!!! With cranberries, ginger and oranges, this drink looks so festive and yet so simple. 

Christmas is almost here. 

The craziness with shopping ( yes…I wait until the last minute), long lines, parking, baking, parties….

I certainly don’t wanna spend time on drinks. 

 Something fast and delicious yet pretty enough to impress your guests is my kinda jam right now.

The cranberry-ginger syrup can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator. Top with ice and seltzer water just before serving. 

I told ya, easy peasy.

Cranberry Ginger Soda


2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

1-inch piece ginger, sliced

1/2 orange. sliced

Seltrzer water, as required

To garnish

Thinly sliced orange

fresh cranberries


1. Add cranberries, sugar, water and ginger into a medium saucepan, place on medium heat and bring to a boil and sugar is dissolved. Turn off heat add orange slices and let cool completely. This can be made ahead and store in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. 

2. Just before serving, discard orange and ginger slices from the cranberry syrup. Pour about 1/2 cup syrup (along with cranberries) into a serving glass, top with a few ice cubes and pour seltzer over it. Stir to disslove, garnish and serve immediately. 

Makes about 4 drinks.
