I love slider recipes. Small and totally adorable. They are the perfect excuse for me to eat more than one:)
And they make a great party food, too. Small portion or bite sized ones are just the perfect candidate. Ham, egg and cheese make for an awesome game day food. Sure is not a chicken wing. Hey, we can’t live on chicken wings alone. Need some variety, right?
Easy recipes like these (sliders can be assembled and stored in the refrigerator. Brush them with mustard butter and bake just before serving). Sure comes very handy on a busy day like Superbowl Sunday.
Great for weekend brunch, on-the-go breakfast on week days (I prep the previous day and bake in the morning while I get my coffee brewing).
My children often request these in their school lunch box. YUM.
They start with soft, sweet Hawaiian rolls (like King’s). Filled with scrambled eggs, deli ham slices, cheddar and then brushed with mustard butter and baked until cheese melts.
The rolls get toasted and become so amazingly soft and with hot melted cheese inside….so good.
This is a totally adaptable recipe –
Add chopped, cooked bacon along with the filling <— daddy’s favorite.
Add chopped baby spinach while cooking the eggs. <— my favorite.

Ham, Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sliders
Easy, baked Hawaiian rolls breakfast sliders feature creamy scrambled eggs, melty cheddar, ham. Perfect for game day, breakfast on-the-go.
- 10 eggs, large
- 4 tablepsoons salted butter, divided
- 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
- 1 (12 count) King's sweet Hawaiian rolls
- 5-6 thick slices cheddar (medium or sharp)
- 8 slices deli ham
Whisk together eggs, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Place a large non-stick saute pan with 2 tablespoons butter over low-medium heat. When butter has melted, gently pour eggs. Cook, stirring occasionally until eggs are just cooked. Transfer eggs to a plate.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Have a 9x13 inch baking dish ready ( or any large baking pan/sheet that can hold the rolls in single layer).
Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter in the microwave and stir in dijon mustard. Set aside.
Cut rolls in half horizontally. Lay bottom half (cut side up) in the baking pan. Place a layer of cooked eggs on top, then sliced ham and then top with a layer of cheese. Close rolls (cut side down). Brush the tops with dijon butter.
Bake rolls for 16-18 minutes, until cheese has melted.
Make ahead tip - Rolls can be assembled, placed in the refrigerator. Just before serving, brush tops with melted butter and bake (might take an additional 2-3 minutes).
Eggs can be increased to 12, if you like more eggs.
Ham and cheese may be increased depending on your preference.
Sometimes, I add chopped, cooked bacon along with all the filling and it's delicious too.
