Cooking green beans in the oven has always been my go-to method of cooking, until I experimented with my air fryer. If you are new to air fryer, then this is a great recipe to start. It is easy, no-fuss and you end up with delicious side for dinner.

Main ingredients

Green beans – Trim edges, wash well and pat dry until no moisture remains. Fresh green beans are recommended because they have the perfect texture when cooked in the air fryer, but frozen works too.

Olive oil – Extra virgin olive oil

Seasonings – Salt and pepper

Method

Toss green beans with olive oil and seasonings, making sure that the seasoning coats evenly.

Cook at 390° for 8 minutes (giving a couple of shakes mid way) and serve hot.

Expert tips

To prepare green beans, snap off the stem ends (with your hands or cut with a knife) of the bean, pulling off the stringy fibrous thread. Young beans might not have any of the fibrous thread. The other pointy end is perfectly fine to eat, but you could chop that off if you wish.

Dry thoroughly – Make sure to thoroughly dry the washed green beans in a clean kitchen towel

Seasoning: We have left it simple with just salt and pepper, since this makes a great side dish with any main course dishes. However, you could add other seasoning like butter, grated parmesan (tossed after cooking), taco seasoning , garlic salt or any other favorite seasonings.

To use frozen green beans, use directly from frozen and follow the same recipe, but cook for an additional 2 to 4 minutes.

When picking fresh green beans at the store, the beans should snap off when bent in half and are bright green in color.

Adjust cooking time as needed. All air fryers cook differently, so use the cook time as an estimate, and add more or less time as needed.
