Ingredients

Instructions

  • Place chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 40 to 60 seconds (stirring every 25 seconds), until completely melted.
  • Remove bowl from microwave and stir until very smooth.
  • Stir in cocoa powder, vanilla extract and salt, until thoroughly combined. Set aside at room temperature for 1 to 4 hours, or until it becomes a soft dough consistency.
Tip: The mixture will solidify in approximately one hour during cold winter days, but may require more time on a hot summer day.
  • Scoop up a tablespoon measure, gently roll it into smooth balls, and then immediately roll it in cocoa powder while the outside is still sticky.
  • Set aside for a few hours to firm up.

Notes

After shaping the balls, promptly roll them in cocoa powder. The truffle's surface will retain slight stickiness and warmth from your hands, ensuring excellent adherence of the toppings.
The resting time varies based on weather conditions. In colder winter months, the dough typically firms up within an hour, whereas on a hot summer day, it may take over three hours or longer.
