Jalapeno Dip

This Jalapeno dip is creamy, spicy, cheesy and easy - No bacon or sausage! This favorite party appetizer has never failed to impress. Assemble ahead and bake just before you'd like to serve.

Ingredients

  • One 8-ounce block cream cheese at room temperature
  • One 4-ounce can diced jalapeños drain well
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ⅛ to ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large scallion finely chopped
  • ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh jalapeno slices for topping (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F and have a 6-inch cast iron skillet or any similar size baking pan ready.
  • Add softened cream cheese into a medium bowl and beat with an electric beater until light and creamy.
  • Add drained jalapenos, cheddar, mayo, salt and scallion. Beat for 10 to 20 seconds to thoroughly combine.
  • Spread mixture into the skillet or baking pan, sprinkle mozzarella on top and then sliced jalapenos.
  • Bake for 18 to 23 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
  • Serve hot with your favorite chips.

Notes

Cream cheese - Use block-style cream cheese and not from a tub.
Adjust spice level - Canned jalapenos are available in various spice levels, ranging from mild to medium or hot. Choose the spice level that suits your preference.
