Ingredients

Instructions

  • Add the chocolate chips and coconut oil to a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, for 2 to 3 minutes or until fully melted and smooth.
  • Mash the avocado really well until it’s smooth and lump-free.
  • Add the mashed avocado, cocoa powder, vanilla and salt to the melted chocolate and mix until well combined.
  • Let the mixture sit at room temperature until it’s firm enough to roll into balls. In a hurry? Pop it in the fridge for 15 to 30 minutes to speed things up.
  • Scoop the mixture into 1 tablespoon-sized mounds. Roll each into balls.
  • Scoop mixture into a tablespoon measure balls, gently roll between the palm of your hands until smooth and round.
  • Roll each into toppings, if desired. Place them on a sheet pan and chill until firm. After the truffles are firm, you can transfer them to an airtight container.
  • Store the truffles in the refrigerator, and let them sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before serving — they taste best when slightly softened.
