  • Preheat oven to 450F.
  • Place green beans on a baking sheet. Toss in 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Spread in an even layer after tossing.
  • Bake for 15 minutes.
    In the meatime, toss sliced almonds, panko and remaining ½ tablespoon olive oil together in a small bowl.
  • Take the pan out of the oven, give it a toss, and arrange the green beans in a single layer, placing them closer together.
    Sprinkle the almond-panko topping over green beans, covering evenly.
  • Return the pan to the oven and continue cooking at the same temperature for about 10 minutes, until the almonds look golden brown.
    During the last few minutes, keep a close watch to ensure the almonds don’t darken too much.
  • Serve hot, using a flat spatula to carefully lift the green beans along with the toppings.

Notes

    Double the recipe - If you want to double the recipe to serve a larger crowd, split the beans across two large sheet pans.
    Don't over crowd - Use a large baking sheet for one pound of roasted green beans almondine.
    Pat dry - Make sure to pat the green beans dry before roasting.
