Equipment

Ingredients

Parmesan-Panko

Instructions

  • Wash, trim, and pat the green beans dry—any moisture will make them steam, not roast!
  • Toss them with olive oil, salt, garlic powder and pepper, until thoroughly combined.
  • Preheat air fryer to 380°F for 10 minutes. Place green beans (spreading them out as evenly as possible) and cook for 4 minutes.
  • While the green beans cook, mix up the topping—combine panko and olive oil in a small bowl and stir until well coated. Then mix in the Parmesan and a pinch of red pepper flakes, if you like a little heat.
  • Open the air fryer, give the basket a good shake for even cooking, then spread the green beans back into a single layer. Sprinkle the panko-Parmesan evenly on top and cook for an additional 5 to 8 minutes.
👉 You’re looking for a golden topping and nicely charred edges on the green beans.
  • When done, open the air fryer and let them cool for 3–5 minutes—they’ll crisp up even more as they sit!
👩‍🍳 They’re super addictive—you might eat half the batch before dinner’s even ready!

Notes

Place in a single layer - Make sure that the veggies are in a single layer so that they caramelize instead of steaming.
Air fryer size -I cooked one pound in a 6-quart Instant Vortex which was just the perfect size. If using a smaller appliance, then cook in two batches.
Cook till golden brown - Cook until the topping gets a golden brown color. It makes it crispy and delicious.
Resting time - Open the basket and let the cooked veggie cool for 3 to 5 minutes before serving, this helps to crisp up the topping even further.
Serve hot - It is crispy and irresistible when hot.
