Pre heat oven to 350° F. Lightly spray a baking pan (large enough to fit one package of Hawaiian rolls) with cooking spray and set aside.
Cut each roll about 1 inch deep in one direction, then rotate 90 degrees and cut in the opposite direction (see photos for reference). Transfer the rolls into the prepared baking pan.
Mix melted butter, sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
Using a small spoon, carefully drizzle the cinnamon butter into each cut opening, making sure to distribute it evenly across all the rolls until the mixture is used up.
Bake for about 15 to 19 minutes, until the top looks golden brown. Remove from the oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly.
Make icing
Add all the icing ingredients into a bowl and beat with an electric beater for about one minute. Alternatively, whisk the frosting by hand.
Spread the frosting over the warm rolls and enjoy!

Notes
Use as much or as little icing as desired. For a more indulgent touch, feel free to cover the entire top with icing, just like a classic cinnamon roll.It is best enjoyed warm.
