    Bang Bang Sauce Ingredients

Scroll down to the recipe card below for full information on ingredients and amounts.

    • Mayonnaise: It is the creamy base of a classic restaurant style bangbang sauce.
    • Sweet chili sauce: Known as Thai or Asian sweet chili sauce, it’s a sweet, savory, tangy, and spicy blend of red chilies, garlic, ginger, sugar, and vinegar. I recommend Mae Ploy, which is widely available in supermarkets and on Amazon.
    • Sriracha: Adds the heat in the sweet and spicy sauce. Feel free to use according to your heat tolerance.
    • Garlic powder: It adds a subtle hint of garlic that you may not immediately notice, but it enhances the flavor in an understated way.

What Goes Well With Bang Bang Sauce

When I say it’s good with everything, I mean it! In addition to the baked cauliflower bites and chicken thighs I mentioned earlier, it’s perfect with chicken dishes like the air-fried chicken nuggets, baked chicken cutlets and the grilled chicken thighs or instead of the sriracha mayo for the air fryer breaded shrimp.
You can also drizzle it over air-fried baby potatoes for an extra burst of flavor! You’ll want to put it on everything from fries and burgers to shrimp and chicken.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I use fresh garlic instead of the garlic powder

If you love the flavor of garlic, you can use a small clove of finely grated garlic. However, keep in mind that raw garlic is more pungent and can impact the overall taste of the sauce. I prefer garlic powder, as it adds a subtle garlic flavor without overpowering the other ingredients.

How long can I store it in the fridge?

It will stay fresh in the fridge for up to 4 or 5 days when stored in a covered container.

    Can you freeze the sauce?

It’s not recommended to freeze creamy mayo-based sauces, as the mayonnaise can separate and become watery, which affects the texture once thawed.
