Why you’ll love these chocolate Easter nests?

I recreated the classic Easter treat at home using melted chocolate and shredded coconut, then shaped them into adorable little nests filled with mini chocolate eggs or candy. They’re ridiculously easy to make—grab store-bought peanut butter cups and chocolate eggs (Amazon has plenty!) and just assemble, chill, and done. Cute, festive, and totally kid-approved, these nests are the perfect sweet treat for Easter or spring celebrations!

All you need is a few ingredients and minutes to make these fun little Easter nests. Check them out below.
- Chocolate chips - I like to use semi sweet chocolate for these Easter nests, but you can use white, dark or milk chocolate chips.
- Coconut - We use sweetened shredded coconut which added the perfect sweetness when combined with melted chocolate.
- Mini Cadbury eggs - Any egg shaped candy like malt eggs, jelly beans can be used.
- Nut butter cups - Use store bought peanut butter cups to make a super easy treat. You could also use our homemade sun butter cups or almond butter cups instead.
Substitutions & Variations
- Not a fan of coconut? Try using crushed cornflakes.
- Use any store bought or homemade nut butter cup.
- Use jelly beans or Easter M&M’s instead of mini eggs.
- Switch up the chocolate and use milk, dark or white chocolate chips instead of semi sweet chocolate chips.
- Skip coconut oil or use butter instead.
- Add flavorings like vanilla or almond extract to flavor Easter nests.

Chocolate Easter Nests
Ingredients
- ½ cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 8 Nut Butter Cups use store bought peanut butter cups or homemade
- 24 mini chocolate eggs
Instructions
- Melt chocolate. Add chocolate chips and coconut oil into a medium microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 60 to 90 seconds (stirring every 20 seconds) or until melted and smooth.
- Mix in coconut. Gently fold in the shredded coconut until the mixture is fully coated. Be careful not to press or pack it down—keeping the coconut loose will help create a light, beautiful nest shape.
- Shape nests. Scoop 1 heaped tablespoon of coconut mixture on top of each nut butter cup, shape with a spoon to form a round nest, and place 3 candy eggs in the middle, pressing gently to adhere. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
