Who doesn’t love ramen? A go-to comfort food for so many college students. I enjoy getting creative with ramen, like with my garlic butter ramen noodles or honey walnut shrimp ramen, which is a unique mashup of the uber popular honey walnut shrimp and ramen noodles.
What is barbeque ramen? It is a fusion noodle dish that combines the flavors of traditional ramen with barbecue. It typically features ramen noodles served in a bq infused broth, often including grilled or smoked meat and toppings.
It’s a unique twist on classic ramen, blending the comforting warmth of noodle soup with the smoky BBQ. Be sure to check out my instant pot BBQ chicken recipe using the same barbecue sauce.

Ingredients you'll need
Ramen noodles - You'll only need the ramen noodles, not the seasoning packet. You can either discard it or save it for another use. Feel free to use any flavor of Top Ramen noodles you prefer!
Stock - I prefer to use 33% reduced sodium chicken stock. If using regular sodium or no sodium chicken stock then adjust salt accordingly.
Barbecue sauce - Use your favorite barbecue sauce, adjusting the spice level to your preference. I used Kinder's BBQ sauce.
Oil - Use a neutral tasting oil such as vegetable or corn oil.
Scallion - Chopped spring onions add a nice crunch and a pop of color. Feel free to skip them if they're not available.

Variations
These BBQ ramen noodles are quick and easy, made with just 5 ingredients. If you'd like to add some protein or veggies, here are a few suggestions:
- Toss in shredded rotisserie chicken at the end.
- Mix in leftover cooked bbq pork or chicken.
- Sauté chopped chicken or shrimp in the 2 teaspoons of oil until fully cooked. Then, add chicken stock and Kinder's BBQ sauce, and continue with the recipe.
- Saute corn kernels, diced bell pepper, diced onion or zucchini in the 2 teaspoons oil and remove to a plate. Cook the ramen as instructed and then toss in the cooked veggies in the end.
Toppings
While this dish is delicious on its own, adding a soft-boiled or sunny-side-up egg will bring a lovely richness and extra protein. Garnish with chopped green onions, cilantro, or toasted white sesame seeds for an extra burst of flavor.

5-Ingredient BBQ Ramen Noodles
Ingredients

- ½ cup barbecue sauce
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 2 ( 3 ounces ) package instant ramen noodles flavor packets discarded
- 2 scallions, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Add chicken stock, barbecue sauce and vegetable oil into a medium pan and mix.
- Place pan over medium-high heat and let it come to a boil.

What a yummy idea to ditch the seasoning packet in the ramen and make your own! I love the BBQ flavor in this! I will have to try this with one of the many packages of ramen I have in our pantry hehehehe
Tiffany
I don't understand the concept of ditching the chicken season packet if you are just going to add chicken stock. Same difference and pretty retarded .

Hi Tiffany, The flavor profile and the end taste was much more to our liking when made this way. Appreciate your honest feedback.
