    Ingredients

    • Hawaiian sweet rolls: You will need one 12-count package of Kingโ€™s Hawaiian sweet rolls, making sure to choose the sweet variety rather than the savory version.
    • Sugars: This orange buns recipe uses white granulated sugar for the orange butter and confectionerโ€™s sugar to create the smooth orange icing.
    • Butter: You will need 3 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter, reserving one teaspoon for the orange glaze to give it a velvety, luxurious finish.
    • Orange: You will need one fresh orange to provide both the zest and the freshly squeezed juice for the recipe.
    • Cranberries: Use fresh cranberries for the best texture and flavor. If using frozen cranberries then make sure to thaw before using.

    • Make Orange Butter. Add the melted butter (saving about 1 teaspoon for the glaze), 1 tablespoon of white granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of orange juice, and the orange zest to a small bowl. Stir until everything is well combined.
    • Fill Rolls. Using a small spoon, drizzle the orange butter into the cuts and over the tops of the rolls, making sure itโ€™s evenly distributed. Sprinkle the cranberries on top, tucking most of them into the openings.
    • Bake. Bake for about 18 to 20 minutes, until the top looks golden brown. ย Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool slightly.
    • Glaze. While the rolls cool, whisk together the confectionersโ€™ sugar, 1 tablespoon of orange juice, and the reserved melted butter (re-melt if needed) until smooth. Drizzle the icing evenly over the warm rolls and let them rest for about 10 minutes so the glaze can soak in. Enjoy!
