Ingredients you'll need
Scroll down to the recipe card below for full information on ingredients and amounts.
- Clementines – You can use any small orange variety like clementines, mandarins, or Cuties, but choose ones with a flat top and bottom so they sit upright and can easily hold the Oreo witch hat.
- Oreo Cookies – Regular Oreos work best for this spooky fruit treat, as they’re sturdier than mini, double-stuffed, or thin versions, though you can use any variety your children love for a fun twist.
- Hershey’s Chocolate Kisses – Either milk or dark chocolate kisses work great, as their pointed shape makes the perfect witch hat when placed on top of an Oreo cookie.
- Chocolate Chips – Melted chocolate act as edible glue, helping you stick the Oreo cookie hats and candy eyes securely to the oranges.
- Candy Eyeballs – These can be found at most large grocery stores, craft stores like Michaels or Joann, and online at places like Amazon.
Tips For Success
- Choose flatter-shaped oranges that sit securely without wobbling.
- You can use any type of chocolate chips, including dark, milk, or white chocolate.
- Let the decorated Halloween oranges sit for at least 3 hours so the chocolate has plenty of time to set before serving.
How To Make Halloween Oranges?
You can find full printable recipe below, but here is a quick overview of the procedure along with step-by-step photos.

Make Oreo cookie witch hats - Spoon some melted chocolate into a small zipper bag, snip off an end, and squeeze about 1 teaspoon on top of an Oreo cookie. Place a Hershey Kiss chocolate on it, pressing gently so the chocolate comes around the edges.

Prepare oranges - Start by thoroughly washing and drying the fruits, ensuring they are completely moisture-free. Next, remove the stem ends to provide stability and prevent any wobbling.
3 & 4. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave. Using a toothpick, place a dab of melted chocolate on the back of two candy eyeballs and stick them to the clementine.

5. Squeeze more melted chocolate on top of the orange and then carefully stick a prepared Oreo witch hat on top, pressing gently to adhere.
