This Avocado Smoothie does not taste like avocado! It is creamy, sweet, nutritious and tasty.
I shared a chocolate avocado smoothie recipe with banana, a while ago. While it is delicious, I wanted to share an avocado smoothie that takes the spotlight, allowing its unique flavor to shine.
Choosing a ripe avocado is essential for a creamy and delicious avocado smoothie. Look for avocados with a dark green to almost black color and gently squeeze them.
It should feel firm with a gentle give. If it is too firm then it is likely underripe; if it's mushy, then it may be overripe. Avoid avocados with soft spots or indentations, as these may be signs of bruising or overripeness.
💡 Did you know? Avocados can ripen after being picked. So, if you buy one that's still firm, you can let it ripen on the kitchen counter for a day or two. Placing it in a paper bag with a banana or apple can speed up the ripening process due to the ethylene gas these fruits produce.
