Ingredients you'll need to make healthy brownie bites

Scroll down to the recipe card below for full information on ingredients and amounts.

ingredients needed to make brownie bites.
    • Almond Butter: Use creamy almond butter for a smoother, fudgier texture. Make sure it’s well-stirred and not too runny or too stiff—I like to use Barney's almond butter.
    • Almond Flour: Opt for super-fine almond flour (not almond meal). It blends easily and gives the brownie balls a fudgy, soft dough-like consistency without any grittiness.
    • Maple Syrup: It acts as both a natural sweetener and binder in this recipe.
    • Chocolate Chips: I love using Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips for a rich flavor without being overly sweet. If you’re using a sweeter brand like Nestlé, consider reducing the maple syrup slightly.
    • Cocoa Powder: Unsweetened Hershey’s cocoa powder brings deep, classic chocolate flavor. Be sure to use unsweetened cocoa to control the sweetness.
    • Salt: Just a pinch of salt balances the sweetness and enhances the chocolate flavor.

    Substitutions & Variations

    • Avoid using almond meal instead, as it creates a slightly heartier texture rather than the fudgy brownie texture we aim for.
    • Use peanut butter instead of almond butter.
    • Replace maple syrup with honey.
    • Make it vegan by using vegan chocolate chips.

These mini chocolate brownie balls stay fresh for 3 to 4 days at room temperature, up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator, or for a month in the freezer. However, these balls are so delicious that they likely won't last that long!

Hi, You can use regular flour, but I recommend heat-treating it first, as raw flour may contain harmful bacteria and isn’t safe to eat as-is - Maria
